Fished an abbreviated full day with Dr Mark Harris and his wife Keely. We started the day catching some bottom bait which included no scale bait. We headed offshore and found a substantial south tide and by the time we were rigged and ready a steady 15knot south wind. We were power fishing to the west and laying in the trough! Awesome...
We made our rounds and put in our time strictly on the bottom. Two boats trolling caught 1 mahi and a kingfish between them by 1pm.
We ended up catching 2 nice red grouper, a quality Gag Grouper, 6 rudderfish, a limit of Amberjacks, 15 seabass, and a dozen snapper and a porgie.
All in all given the adverse conditions I’ll take it. Can’t think of a time I’ve worked harder in the last 5 years to stay on or hit spots as much as we did today.
We pulled into my slip when the storm of the year hit... no pics at the dock sorry!
A bit dusty
