Fished a 3/4 day yesterday with Jared, Rachel, Troy and Jeff. Bought some bait and caught some bait and headed to look for cobia and kingfish. We had no cobia action and caught 1-3 kingfish and then the porpoise showed up and it was over. Ran offshore and bottom fished and it was a struggle. We covered 72 miles trying to find fish to bite. We caught some Seabass, red snapper and Amberjacks. Hard pressed to give a chunk bait or swipe away in some areas despite excellent readings. Ended back inshore looking for cobia, no luck then unloaded the well trying to chum Kings and got zero response so we called it a day at 2pm.
Today we had James, George and Mike from Tampa. We loaded up with bait and went looking for the kingfish. We found them again and caught a limit of 8 from 10-20lbs pretty quickly. Ran offshore and found some cooperative bottom fish. We caught 15 red snapper, 4 Amberjack keeping 3 to 30lbs, 2 red grouper a scamp grouper and a couple sea bass.
Looking forward to tmrw.
Calm and hot today
