Fished a full day with @bnimmo24 and Tommy. We started out buying live bait from @stuartlivebait and then headed off and started trolling. We trolled for 2.5hrs and never had a bite fishing from 65-550ft and spending most of our time on a beautiful edge/temp break with grass , color change and hard current in 260ft. Never had a bite. I did hear of 1 wahoo and a boat with a mahi on the same edge. Made 4 drifts for tile fish and had 2 bites but didn’t stay tight. It was 11:30 and we had Caught nothing. Switched gears to live bait bottom fishing. In search of action and bending the rod but primarily cobia. We caught 6 jumbo bluefish, a handful of rudderfish, 5 Amberjack to 35lbs keeping 3, a nice gag and some genuine red snapper. Hit 10 spots with minimal current and conditions from 65-220ft. The Farther north we went, less current, ultimately current turned south and water was cold. Bites were less and less. Tried 3 spots for mangos and muttons on the drift no luck. Ended the day in 50ft looking for cobia and kingfish no luck. Final stab was Brandon and Tom both catching their first ever slot snook!
Biggest bluefish, biggest Amberjacks, larges grouper, largest snapper, first slot snook, first rudderfish for both guys. Turned out not so bad...
