Today we had an excellent day fishing with the Kitchen staff from Lures Riverfront Restaurant we had Kobe, Brian, James and Trey. We started the day catching a little live bait then headed offshore. Found a nice condition to troll on and the bonito were relentless with 20 plus bites but we managed 2 nice gaffer mahis in the middle of things. Trying to find a better bonito free promise land we stopped getting bites all together and at 11:30 I decided to go bottom fishing. That didn’t disappoint. We caught 172 fish on the bottom to bring our total to 183 for the day. We caught 11 cobia, 3 keepers but due to my lack of skill we only landed 2 🤦‍♂️. We caught a red grouper, 40 snapper, countless sea bass, triggerfish, blue runners, remoras and more. Battled a few sharks for a while as well. Ended the day live baiting for 35 minutes and caught another gaffer and pulled a sailfish off.
