Couple Days Of Offshore Fishing

Report Date: April 23, 2019

Surface fishing was slow yesterday for our 3/4 day and non existent on our morning 1/2 today.

Yesterday, we kite fished with a hammerhead bite and a king bite. Gave up on that and went bottom fishing for the kids. Slower yesterday then today. Few Seabass, vermillion, rudderfish, nice lanes, 2 scamp grouper and 5 genuine reds.

Today, after a hour of no one having bites and no current we went bottom fishing with chicken rigs. The morning trip yielded tons of action with sea bass, triggers, American reds, snowy grouper, vermillion, porgies, rudderfish and more. We were fortunate enough to keep everyone busy and wear out some forearms.

This afternoon knowing what I knew and checking with the fleet on the way out that trolled all morning with just a couple of dolphin each I decided to go straight To the bottom. It didn’t disappoint jacks, snowy grouper, Seabass, American reds, hybrid snapper, vermillion, true Atlantic bonito, bluefish, porgies, almaco jacks, rudderfish and a nice Gag Grouper. Can’t believe the hooks held on this one...
