Couple More First Sailfish Off The Bucket List

Report Date: December 6, 2018

We had Jim and Larry our today for a full day on the Alikai. Both of the guys were hoping for some dinner and more importantly their first ever sailfish. Larry was the first to release his first sailfish a full grown specimen in the 60lb range. Then later in the day we found a good spot and Jim caught his first sailfish that was small but spunky and man those colors.

We were essentially a RAM vessel today for safety for our guests so when we hooked up we were out of gear and clearing the spread. Never made a circle on a mahi or a sail. We ended up with 7 gaffer mahi mahi and going 4-7 on sailfish with the last 6 bites of the day coming from fish in the 12-15lb range. Hard to hook but cool to see.

Mission accomplished as Jim and Larry both caught their first and 2nd ever sailfish.
